Job Description:
The Prevention Consultant will be responsible for collaborating with school districts and community service providers to facilitate training, workshops, webinars, and assemblies related to prevention programs. They will also be responsible for assisting in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes, and evaluation of services to the target population.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services related field.
At least three (3) years of experience working in a non-profit, social service environment in the development or implementation of community-based services, prevention programs, or any other human service programs.
Experience in implementing evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training and coaching according to policies and procedures.
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required.
Must pass NJ Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) screening, and a fingerprint-based background check
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Knowledge of prevention-related issues, including substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, and mental health promotion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with consultants, school districts, and community service providers to facilitate prevention-related training, workshops, webinars, assemblies, and other events.
Assist in the programmatic data collection, reporting, continuous quality improvement processes, and evaluation of services to the target population.
Implement evidence-based practice models and other materials related to training and coaching according to policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, school districts, and other stakeholders.
Participate in the development and implementation of prevention programs and initiatives.
Provide consultation, guidance, and technical assistance to community organizations and school districts on prevention-related issues.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
The NJ4S Passaic County Hub at NJCDC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Per Diem Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our clinical team. This position provides essential services to students within the school district by offering both in-person and virtual counseling for substance use and related behavioral health concerns. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering trauma-informed care and possess the ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Service Delivery: Provide individual and group counseling to students for substance use disorders, conducting assessments and screenings to identify needs, and facilitating brief interventions.
Prevention and Education: Offer substance abuse prevention education and awareness programs to students and school staff. Provide consultation to school staff and parents regarding prevention, intervention strategies, and substance use trends.
Referral Services: Facilitate appropriate referrals for treatment and community support services as necessary, ensuring timely access to care and resources.
Documentation and Reporting: Complete all required documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and data entry, in compliance with NJCDC policies and within required time frames.
Collaboration: Act as a resource for school staff and parents, assisting with the development of individualized care plans and supporting the implementation of school-wide prevention initiatives.
Prevention Programming Support: Assist with the planning and implementation of prevention-focused programming and events as needed, contributing to overall school community well-being.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Licensure: Current NJ State Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents in substance use prevention and treatment, preferably in a school or community-based setting.
Skills:
Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance use intervention, trauma-informed care, and mental health support.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage students, families, and school staff.
Experience with crisis intervention and behavior management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry for clinical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in providing both in-person and virtual counseling services.
Familiarity with local community resources for substance use treatment and prevention.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
